| CSC Hamilton: Modular Green Roofing Discussion |
|
On Thursday, February 18, the Hamilton Chapter of CSC is presenting a lunchtime discussion on pre-vegetated modular roofing products. The guest speaker, LiveRoof Ontario's Kees Govers, B.Sc.(Agr.), will explore the evolution of extensive green roofing to advanced pre-vegetated modular systems, using case study examples such as Toronto's Nathan Phillips Square and the Eglinton West subway station. He will touch on such topics as traditional shallow-soil assemblies, modular compatibility, irrigation, and challenges with designing on a slope. Govers will also examine the possibilities of 'pre-growing' a predictable visual design before installation. The $25-event kicks off with lunch at the Royal Canadian Legion (828 Legion Rd.) in Burlington, Ont., at 11:30 a.m. It qualifies for Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) self-directed hours.
